Math Facts Goals

Quarter 1- Students should be to at least level M in Subtraction.

Quarter 2- Students should be to level Z in Subtraction or in the beginning stages of Multiplication.

Quarter 3- Students should be to at least level L in Multiplication.

Quarter 4- Students need to be completely done with the Multiplication levels (the last level in Multiplication is W).

If students get completely finished with Subtraction and Multiplication before the year is finished, they will go back through Subtraction and Multiplication again, this time skipping a level each time. Once they are through Subtraction and Multiplication a second time, students will move on to Division.

Math Facts Procedures

1) Students will take home Math Facts Monday through Thursday to practice (Students **WILL NOT** have MF to study over the weekend unless they are struggling.).

2) Every student in 3^{rd} grade is starting back at Subtraction Level A for review.

3) At home, your child is to practice the top half of the MF sheet by saying each fact **ALOUD **and then say the answer to you. If you hear either the slightest hesitation from your child or your child gives the wrong answer, correct him/her and then have him/her say the fact and answer three times. Students are then to back up three problems and begin again. This will show if they have registered the correct answer.

4) For even more practice, you can give them a one-minute **oral** test on the bottom half. Please return the **blank** Math Facts sheet each day to school. Your child will use it to take a written test in class.
