Avoid the summer slide and keep kids reading!
It may be summer vacation, but kids need to keep learning. Annually, students who don't read over the summer lose an average of 22% of their reading levels. It can take 2 months of school in the fall to get that back, leaving many behind. Kids in grades K-2 should read 20 minutes a day, kids in 3-8 should attempt to read 4 books at their level to stay where they are.
