Hamilton Elementary School
Message from your K-6 Principal:
I hope you have had a wonderful and relaxing summer! I am very excited about the upcoming school year and the numerous possibilities the ability to focus on one grade level span will bring to our school. Please be assured though that Mrs. Haupert, Mr. Webb, and I will work closely together to ensure a smooth transition to our new roles. We remain committed to supporting all students and our community throughout this process.
This year, the Elementary School will continue our work with our one to one technology initiative, implement new math curriculum, implement new assessments, and work together on a variety of other curricular topics. Attached you will find additional information and a schedule of opening events, including the corporation’s Back To School Registration event. Please know that my door is always open to you and your child. To ensure my availability, appointments can be made by calling 260-488-2101 (new elementary office phone number). I look forward to continuing to work with all students, staff, community members, and our new administrative team this school year as we continue to provide a superior level of service and commitment to our students and their education.
Sincerely,
Barbara Weber
K-6 Principal
Hamilton Elementary School, serving grades K-6, continues to implement program that assist the building of well-rounded students. All students actively participate in both the Accelerated Reader and Mastering Math Facts programs. Teachers have been training to ensure the consistency of program implementation evidence by high levels of ISTEP scores. Programs have been aligned to the goals each student sets quarterly. Each grade level team has implemented quarterly and yearly targets for students which are tracked in students’ data notebooks.
The Elementary Title One program provides critical support to students needing additional academic support. Three teachers and two instructional assistants serve students with planned daily interventions during and outside of the regular school day. Math Facts Factory, Skills Tutor, Waterford and our TOPSS (Title One Program for Student Success) program ensure that all students have needed support.
Additional programs such as the Clean Calendar Club and Marine Mission Masters recognize excellence in meeting behavioral and responsibility-related criteria. With the help of Fine Arts grants, we have introduced students to other cultures, including building a relationship with a sister school in China.
By working together the staff of Hamilton Community Schools continues to ensure that students excel academically and in extra-curricular activities. This is evidenced by high achievement on state and local assessments and in academic competitions.
I thank you in advance for your continued support of Hamilton Community Schools. Please feel free to contact me with any questions, comments, or concerns that you may have at (260) 488-2161.
Sincerely,
Barbara Weber
K-12 Principal
