From the Desk of the K-6 Principal

August 7, 2014

Dear Hamilton Families and Community,

I would like to take the time to say “Thank you” for welcoming me to Hamilton Community Schools.  My name is Stephanie McNeal and I am the new elementary school principal.  I am excited to be a part of a close family who strives for the very best education for their children.  I look forward to meeting all of you and sharing in your children’s lifelong learning.

Let me take the time to share a little bit about myself.  I live in the northern part of Fort Wayne where I was born and raised.  I have 2 wonderful boys, Hudson, age 7 and Hunter, age 10, who keep me busy and make me proud.  They are going into second and fifth grade and are very active in sports.  Currently, we are starting practices for PAL football and we just finished baseball where my oldest son, Hunter, made the All Star team.  Also in my family are my future husband, Jarod and his beautiful little girl, Annistyn who is 4.  We enjoy family time and especially going to the park.  Our newest family member is our 6 ½ month old Mastiff puppy, Lucy.  She brings joy to our family and is rapidly growing, currently weighing in at 84 pounds.  The last thing you should know about me is that I am a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan and you will see me wearing my Steelers gear proudly.  Go STEELERS!!!

Now, I will tell you about my educational background.  I graduated high school from Snider in Fort Wayne Community Schools and attended IPFW for my bachelors in education.  I student taught and earned my first teaching position at Glenwood Park Elementary right next to my stomping grounds, Snider High School.  I taught first grade, fifth grade, and third grade.  As I was teaching, I went back to school at IPFW to earn my Masters in Elementary Administration and Supervision.  After 10 years of teaching, I decided it was time to pursue administration.  I landed my first assistant principal position at Franke Park Elementary School in Fort Wayne Community.  After 2 years at Franke Park, I decided to step out of the box, I left Fort Wayne Community Schools and pursued administration elsewhere.  I hired in at Allen Elementary School in Marion Community Schools and helped start the turn-around process of a failing school. This summer, I decided that it was time to lead my own building so I applied here, at Hamilton Community Schools.  I am ecstatic to be a part of this district and know that we will be the best!  Please don’t be a stranger and I look forward to working together as a team!

We are the Marines!

Stephanie McNeal
