Welcome to Hamilton Elementary!

Principal’s Message

Greetings Parents and Families of Hamilton Elementary School,

piatt1My name is Greg Piatt, the new Principal at Hamilton Elementary School.  It is my privilege and honor to join the Hamilton Community School family.  I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with such a rich tradition that has produced so many outstanding students.  I am looking forward to an exciting year of learning, growing with our students, working with our professional staff, parents, and community members.

Here is some background information about me:  I am married to my lovely wife, Angie.  She is a preschool teacher within Fort Wayne Community Schools.  We are blessed to have four children of our own, Zachary-18, Madison-13, Olivia-12, and Samantha-10 and they keep us busy, especially in the springtime as we enjoy going to our son’s baseball games and our daughter’s softball games.   I spent twelve years in the field of engineering until I realized my passion was in education.  I started teaching 5th grade in Churubusco for a year then taught 7th and 8th Mathematics within Fort Wayne Community Schools for the past eight years.

My main goal is to ensure that every student is provided the highest quality of education possible in a safe and supportive learning environment.  Working together as a team with our staff and parents, I am committed to helping each student achieve their very best.  Every student is valued and worthy of our best effort.

As your Principal, it is important to me that everyone who walks through our doors including teachers, students, parents, and community members are excited to be here! This attitude enables us to meet the challenges of academic excellence in a positive, fun, and nurturing environment.  My door is always open and I welcome your input. Please feel free to stop in, call, or email me to discuss any concerns, suggestions, or ideas to help make this the best year yet!  I feel truly blessed to be a part of such an awesome school community.

You are invited to attend our Open House & registration from 5:30pm – 6:30pm on Monday, August 8th.  The first day of school is Wednesday, August 10th, 2016.  I look forward to meeting everyone soon and hope you enjoy your last few days of summer break!

Respectfully,

Greg A. Piatt
