Marissa Mercer and TeigAnn Freed hosted a Volley for a Cure Event on Monday, September 29th, and raised $4,000 for the Steuben County Cancer Association! The event was to raise awareness of Breast cancer and to pay the expenses of those who have cancer in our county. They raised money through a bake sale, silent auctions, and an intense auction for an autographed volleyball. This event expanded upon last year's event and was a major success. They spent a lot of time and effort on this project and it paid off. A member of the Steuben County Cancer Association announced she would shave her head if they raised $4,000! Inspired by the amazing night, the Lady Marines won their match against Lakeland as well. Great job Marissa and TeigAnn. You should be proud of yourselves! (photos by Chasity Freed)
