Thank you to all of you who applied for the minibus driver. We have hired a person who has his CDL and has experience driving large vehicles. Again, thank you to all that applied. I will keep you on the list if we have other openings.
HCS has an immediate opening for a minibus driver. Must be 21 years old or older and possess a driver's license (no CDL is needed). You must be available between 6:40 am - 7:40 am and then between 3:15- 4:15pm. We will train you. Salary is approximately $75-80 depending upon qualifications. You will be taking 12 -14 students in your bus to and from school. Great retirement job too! High School Students: Homecoming is 3 weeks away on Saturday, February 21! Homecoming will be held at the GEM center in Ashley. Lots of food, karaoke, ax throwing, cornhole, darts, archery tag, giveaways, etc. Bus will depart from the school at 4:40pm and return by 8pm. Student may drive separately and bring a guest from another school if they wish. Casual attire, cost is $10 per person. Tickets available in HS office. We're so happy to have everyone back today! A few updates/reminders:
-100th day of school is Friday, February 6.
-1st semester awards will be Friday, Feb 6 (invites are going home today if your student is receiving an award)
-VIP Valentine's Day Dance is Sat. Feb 14 from 1-3pm. RSVP due by Feb 9.
-Mini Marine Cheer Camp is 2/10, 2/11, 2/12 practice after school until 4:45pm. Performance is Friday, Feb 13.
-Homecoming crowning will take place Friday, Feb 13 (2026 homecoming court will be announced tomorrow)
-Homecoming party Saturday, Feb 21 5-730 pm at the GEM Center. $10 per ticket in main office.

The County Commissioners have just moved Steuben County to orange travel status. HCS will be closed for Wednesday.
Hamilton Community Schools will start on a 2 hour delay tomorrow. We may cancel again since the roads are drifted and currently unsafe. Keep our fingers crossed that the counties can open the roads in the morning.
Hamilton Community Schools will be closed for Tuesday due to drifting on the roads.
Hamilton Community Schools will be on a 3 Hour delay for Tuesday. This means that school will dismiss 1 hour later tomorrow. We are hoping that this will give time to clear drifted roads and will also allow the wind chill advisory to expire at 10 am. I am sure all of you as well as our staff wants to get back into school. But safety comes 1st. Finally, if we decide to close, that announcement will come in the morning which will mean the back roads are not safe to travel

HCS is closing due to the roads continuing to deteriorate. The wind is causing major problems. The bus riders will return back home on their buses. I apologize for this late call. If your students are at school, please make arrangements to pick them back up.
