The Marines (2-21) lost to Lakewood Park in Semi-Final #1 of the IHSAA Sectional 51 tournament hosted by Bethany Christian. Thank you to senior Chase Olson and foreign exchange student, Rafael Darini for their contributions to the Hamilton Marines.

The JH GBB team completed their season this week at the NECC tournament against West Noble. The Lady Marines went 6-7 on the season with two wins over Eastside, Fremont, and Lakeland. Good job Lady Marines!

The Hamilton Marines start IHSAA tournament play tonight against Lakewood Park at Bethany Christian. Tip off is 6pm. Fans may purchase tickets in advance or at the SE door of the gymnasium. Go Marines!

Come out and support the Marines Basketball team tonight as they take on Prairie Heights. JV begins at 6pm with Varsity to follow. Our Mini Marine Cheerleaders should arrive at 6:45pm (door 1) with their performance taking place at halftime (approx 7:45pm) Please wear plain black leggings, gym shoes and their Lime Green Hamilton Cheer shirt from the December performance. Hamilton Summer League Registration is due on February 26! Registration forms can be found in the Elementary and High School office. Please stop in to pick one up or call Mrs. Watkins at 260-488-2101 in the morning and we will get one sent home with your child. We are looking forward to another great season! Thank you!

Hamilton Elementary had a very exciting morning! Fort Wayne’s Philharmonic joined us for a wonderful presentation.

On April 8, the solar eclipse will begin in Hamilton between 2 pm and 4 pm. Because the eclipse occurs during our dismissal time, there is no way for us to watch every student from looking directly at the sun which may harm their eyes. As a precaution, HCS will dismiss two hours early on April 8. Please plan accordingly. IF IT IS A CLOUDY DAY WHERE THE SUN CANNOT BE SEEN, WE WILL HAVE A FULL DAY OF SCHOOL. That decision will be made on April 7 or the morning of April 8th.

Good morning, Marines! Tonight is our VIP Valentine's Day Dance from 4-6pm in the Main Gym. Please enter at door 1 and stop at our Photo Booth. $1 raffle tickets sold at the door. Come dressed to impress! Please help yourself to pizza and treats. DJ goes on at 4pm! If you would like to attend and didn't rsvp please see Mrs Watkins at the door. Tickets are $8 per person.

To all; After a thorough search and interview process to hire a permanent Superintendent, it is with great pleasure to inform you that Dr. William Reichhart has accepted the position, officially changing from Interim Superintendent to Superintendent of Hamilton Community Schools (pending Indiana Code advertisement period and official board vote). As the board strives to facilitate an environment for academic excellence at all levels, Bill was a unanimous choice to move this vision forward for the foreseeable future. The board has a great appreciation for all of the wonderful administration and staff members of HCS, and Bill brings to us a wealth of experience, strength, understanding, and compassion to support all of you to achieve your goals. Please take a minute and welcome Bill when you see him roaming around the building and at the many extra-curricular events that he loves to attend.
